The winegrowing region of Vinho Verde is located in the northwest of Portugal, in an area traditionally known as Entre-Douro-e-Minho. It is delimited by the Minho River in the North (the border with Galicia, Spain) and the mountainous areas in the East and South. The mountains form a natural border between the Atlantic Entre-Douro-e-Minho and the Mediterranean inland regions.

Quinta de Gomariz consists of 42 acres planted in Vale do Ave. The vineyard is planted with a number of traditional varietals, including Loureiro, Espadeiro, Alvarinho (called Albarino in Spain) and the inky Vinhao.
